Does anyone know what the run in this triathlon is like?
    Thanks,
    RF.

    Flat, a multiple lap affair.

Swim is in the lough, obviously enough, First bit can be a bit pushy but generally a very calm swim. Bike is flat, a couple of laps, some turns around traffic cones but good two-way traffic on some stages so you get to see people on the bike. Run out and back course so again, time to see others on the course. It's a well organised race, good food afterwards. They have a descent finish line and PA system so it has a big race feel to it 9even though it's not). Definitely a beginner friendly race.

Will be a few years before I can manage the full thing, but have been asked to do run as part of triathlon and was just wondering how it would fit in with Berlin marathon training and a week before Longford half marathon. As it is flat, I should be able to do it as a hard tempo run and still manage a full race effort at Longford 8 dasy later hopefully.

HM, I was away for a while. Last I knew you had a ?ankle infection, but read somewhere here recently that there is a lung infection? Sorry to hear that. hopefully it will all sort itself out.

Thanks RF, The ankle infection turned out to be something called erythema nodosum which was in fact just a side problem of lung & lymph sarcoidosis. I've been in and out of hospital since February. I recently stopped taking the IV steroids and I'm getting better but there are no guarantees how good I can get, there is significant lung scarring. I'm getting some limited exercise done and fitness is slowly returning but it's upsetting to have a HR of 180 running a 55 min 10km but it's better than not running a 10km at all. As the doc said, it's not going to kill me so long as I respect it and don't overdo things!

Lough Neagh will give you a good hard 10 km run so would be ideal in the Berlin plan.

Thanks, best of luck with the recovery.
