Resetting Di300-N

I inadvertently switched off the scart connection via the setup screens on the set-top box (Pace Di300-N) and as the scart socket seems to be the only way to connect the set-top box to the TV (no RF connectors), I can no longer get the setup options up to correct them.

I suppose resetting to factory defaults will cure it, but I have no manual and can see no obvious way to reset it. Anyone have any ideas?

I have managed to get the Engineers pages up by pressing up/down channel buttons together as I plug it in again, but I can't see anything in there that would do the job, but then I'm not an engineer!

Call UPC. I think you can get a newer better box for free now instead.

Thanks, I just tried that and it did a reboot, but it connects to the TV for a fraction of a second but then shuts down the connection.

The only scart related option you can switch on/off is the scart AV control.
Seeing that you can't see anything from the box on screen follow this sequence carefully.

    Press Menu...Press 5...Press 3...Press down 3 times...Press right.
If the scart AV control was in the off position the above will turn it back on.

If come across TVs that have a dedicated AV button on their remote and without it you couldn't get any AV channels even via the TVs channel +/- buttons so once the scart AV control is off you couldn't access the box. Some universal remotes had similar problems where they wouldn't work properly when it came to the AV button.

OP, if that sequence doesn't work and you're not suffering from any of the above remote control/lack of remote problems you'd be best booking a service call.
