I find that drinking lots of water keeps me wide awake for a very very long time:D(I hate wasting tme sleeping, that doesnt mean I enjoy time peeing:rolleyes:)

But I also find drinking coffee does to some extent( until you start getting the jittery)

How do you keep yourself awake for an extremely long time?

    Yeah wtf?

To keep yourself awake: Pro Plus. They're available in any chemist, no prescription needed and they do a very good job. Don't take too many or you'll get the runs though.

Coke (the drink) is another good one.

At the moment I'm drinking tea and it seems to keep me up too.

Some people are just nocturnal by nature, me being one of them :) I can easily stay up.. That said, I can easily go to sleep after having lots of coffee.

Play Football Manager 2007 (2008 is poo), and everytime the thought of sleep arises I say to myself "Just one more game Gavin".:pac:

Your body eventually needs sleep but a key ingredient to staying awake is your heart rate. You can bring it up with coffee for example.

You also need to keep yourself stimulated. If you keep looking at the same old everything (anyone drive down a US Interstate lately? You know what Im talking about) you will eventually become fatigued. If you feel yourself get drowsy get up and do something different for about 15 minutes.

Pot of tea and something that demands your attention and will stimulate you as Overheal said. Computer games are perfect for this - this is why so many of us here are computer games players I'm sure :)

To stay awake- I usually have to have lively music playing, and be filled with Red Bull. Also, for some reason, eating babybel helps.

Keeping your mind active, along with coffee. Coffee never fails me.

    Caffeine for me

    that or speed :D:D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,960 ✭✭✭trout

no need for artificial stimulants ... wondering about the mortgage, shopping, bills, health, lamenting for the future, thinking fondly of times past ... it's a wonder I can ever get to sleep

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

I don't think its technically possible to lament for the future.

    Your life sounds swell

For me it's good (ie. ancient.....) music and guitar.

I could just start jamming along to some cream or zeppelin, leads to crazy improvisation, and suddenly it's 4.am :D.

    Consider yourself at home.
Consider yourself one of the family.
We've taken to you so strong.
It's clear we're going to get along.
    Consider yourself well in
Consider yourslef par to the furniture.
There isn't a lot to spare.
Who cares?..What ever we've goin we share!

If it should chance to be
    We should see
    Some harder days
    Empty larder days
    Why grouse?
    Alsyas a-chance we'll meet
    Somebody
    To foot the bill
Then the drinks are on the house!
    Consider yourself our mate.
We do't want to have no fuss,
For after some consideration, we can state...
    Consider yourself
    One of us!

seems only apt considering the forum

    Tonight, tonight,
    Won't be just any night
Tonight there will be no morning star.
Tonight, tonight, I'll see my love tonight.
And for us, stars will stop where they are.
    Today
    The minutes seem like hours,
    The hours go so slowly,
And still the sky is light . . .
    Oh moon, grow bright,
And make this endless day endless night!

If I'm with someone interesting, I can pull an all nighter. (Wait a minute! Now I didn't mean what you think I said! That's an innocent expression over here!)
