No biggie, I'd say more tickets will become available at some stage. I remember last year tickets went back onsale a week or two before the event.

Whyyyy do they do this every year? There is no way on earth EP is *really* sold out with that weak line-up.

They're just holding back tickets to generate more interest in it.

Looks like EP could even be cancelled this year as Jon Reynolds has to pay over 400,000 euro in royalties to IMRO that he's not been paying since the first year of EP. Was on the front page of the Metro today.

Its going ahead. That story is already been shown up as scaremongering by IMRO and Reynolds has announced hes gonna sort it out and theres no danger of the festival being cancelled.

Id say a significant amount of the tickets are sold out. Theres a lot of people who just go because its been proven to be a good weekend away and that there will always be some performances they will enjoy. And shock horror some people actually think the lineup is starting to shape up with some of the latest announcements. Anyway Its not in their interest to stop people buying tickets when theres so much competition around.

There'll be the trickle feed back into the system that there was last year and the usual rush at the end of people trying to flog tickets from friends who pulled out but dont think they are sitting on 10k tickets or anything. Capacity is only 32,500k and theyd sold out their early bird allocation before Christmas this year too.

Its scaremongering in the sense that IMRO, assuming theyve any intelligence, would never go ahead with cancelling EP. They made a big deal out of it to twist Reynolds arm because hed obviously been ignoring them for years and then all of a sudden the judge says "ah heres 3 weeks to sort it out" which IMRO went "sure" to. I doubt its a case of them not having the money more a case of seeing how long they can string IMRO along without paying them.

I can really go into detail arguing about your statement regards comparing lineups as its against the rules here other than to say lineups often can look a lot better or worse on paper than they turn out to be. Theres a lot more to a festival than headliners.

Having said that in my opinion this year everything is overpriced. When people are parting with upwards of €100 for just one act to play 2hrs, €240 for a weekend may actually represent value for some people if theres more than 4 names they want to see. Hell its €25 quid to see a member of a band DJ on a Saturday night now. Im just glad I got my EP ticket at €200 as thats a fair enough price in my mind.

A mate of mine that works for Ticketmaster told me that there were about 750 tickets left about 3 weeks ago and he expected them to sell out in a couple of weeks... Looks like he was about right...

Working at it so don't have to worry about tickets but not surprised that it has sold out it - is a very good weekend away. One of my favourite festivals to be at !

Electric Picnic is more or less sold out. The only reason they reserve some tickets is to **** over the touts that stand outside. They only keep a couple of hundred but it is hilarious seeing touts outside trying to sell dozens of tickets for less than cost price because would you rather go to the official stall or a sleazy tout when paying the same price for a ticket. very funny indeed

the line up is brilliant, low key but class. MBV,Wilco,George Clinton,Tindersticks,CSS,Sigur Ros,Nick Caves Grinderman, the breeders, goldfrapp, henry rollins, the roots, herbaliser, tinariwen, conor oberst and gomez performing the whole of "Bring It On"

That's a full weekends worth of brilliance. A few more top names would be very much welcomed but every year people say the line up is crap and every year everyone goes home saying they were at the festival of the year.every single year.

Can you reserve some tickets that might come on sale anywhere?

Just a quick question, dont want to create a new thread for it. Applied for a job through Body & Soul for EP, just found out I've been accepted for it. I know you'd do 16 hours over the weekend, but is that from Thursday or Friday onwards, and would I get to see the bands I want(mainly Sigur Ros and Gutter Twins). Anyone worked at it before that may be able to help me!
