N95 Trying to install software

    Hi

My N95 has some sort of auto-start installer application that attempts to install each time the phone starts up. Trouble is I don't know what it is or where other than it seems to be on the memory card. The phone reports that it's an unsafe / unknown application. I'd like to get rid of it but can't find any files related to this.

this usually happens after a firmware upgrade, where previously installed third party apps have been corrupted. Its the same on mine, it won't harm the phone and afaik the only way to fix it is to format the mass memory. Make sure you back up what you want to keep first.

Well that makes some sense but still it must have an auto-install file somewhere.

Check and see themes you may have installed. That's what happened with mine.

If you look in your list of installed apps do you see any that are in the list but that are not actually installed? Hit the options key for each one and see if there is an install option.

I had a similar problem after a firmware upgrade on an N73 that had all the apps on the memory card before the upgrade - making sure all the apps appearing in the applications list were actually installed fixed the problem. Once the apps are installed properly you can remove any you don't want properly.
