I got my hands on a cheap freeview box off eBay (cheap as chips) to take a look at the DTT trial.

I watched Euro 2008 Germany Austria last night and the definition (SD not HD) was perfect! I flicked between RTE on DTT and RTE on Sky & BBC on Sky and I tell you the picture was 150% times better on DTT. My Sky is perfect in fact I only had the dish realigned recently so it's not as if I have crap Sky!

If the government nail this properly we are looking at a 1st class service! I am impressed with everything on it! The Aertel was class the picture didnt flick as I went through the pages- it was crystal clear!

Anyway I thought I'd share this with you and I know the trial is coming to an end and lets hope they can replicate the trial in MPEG 4 and we get a freeview service second to none!

You know your box is obsolete and apart from RTE, more channels at equivalent or better quality on FreeSat / FTA?

Actually the service nearly 7 years late and still no clear viability.
