    don't usually do music, but make exceptions for the Ig :cool:

    Learning on my feet , experimenting like hell, the one thing i took from my jump into music , is i get the best results shooting on mode "S" , so hard to meter correctly, set shutter speed to 250 , and pumped up the iso , and needles to say the Ig was brill

    set on http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebaz/

    sounds good, wont get any flash use at a gig of said people, pretty strict. might see ya at some big festival this summer, were you given artistic direction on your passes, or free for all?

    Ah cool, strangely I'm actually glad to here that, didnt wanna show up and be the only one trying to get a flash in. Said company is supposed to be pretty strict alright.
    Wasnt given any direction on it at all, get in there and do what ya want was all I heard.
    Might be of interest to someone, but Im pretty sure I can get another photographer in too, have been told I can anywayz.

    at 70-200 is far more useful at big outdoor gigs, it's what i'd use 90% of the time. something like a 24-70 will get you shots of more atmosphere but if the photos are for publishing, they often like the artist close ups, so you'll see press there with 300mm lenses

    as regards flash, don't use it unless you want to ruin the stage atmosphere that the normally great lighting that is there at big gigs

    my shots from the last gig i shot are here

    I use a Canon EOS 400D with the standard lense (18-55mm) and 70mm-200mm for bigger outdoor gigs and for small indoor gigs I mainly use the f1.8 50mm lense Canon has. That is my favourite lense for gig photos.
    Some of my shots can be found on flickr;

    Alan if you want an 'assistant' at the Marley Park M*se gig in August that ABC are doing then I'll gladly help. Have my ticket.

    cheers
    p.s. he's the Godfather of punk ;)

    as regards equipment , i'd say i raised a few sniggers amongst "some" of the pros , with my 85 mm , best i had with a low f stop .
    Key for me was shooting on mode S, and setting shutter speed , rather than relying on meter , that was hard to equalise.

    Ah, now, that was a superb concert, i was totally blown away. Even the occasional downpour couldn't dampen my enjoyment - after all these years, he's still got it.
