Diana camera help!

    Hello all.
Right, I got my first film camera today - an original 1970 (boxed) Diana camera (for e15). I got my film (120, iso 400) and put it in as instructed. Now here's the thing:

It says wind on after shooting until you see the next number in the red circle. am not seeing any numbers yet and Im afraid to wind on any further, as I'd like at least one salvagable picture from my first roll. The film was Fujifilm Neopan, if that makes any difference. If not, how am I supposed to know when to wind on and when to stop?!

    Thanks for any suggestions!

    Sean

After shooting the roll or one frame? Diana shoots 4" is that right? The frame number markings for 120 are printed on the backing paper, 6" max, so its likely the smaller frame on the diana wont show this. Trial and error; wind it on, for 2 turns, shoot a frame and record the frame number and number of turns. Increase the turns then develop the film and check which frame on the neg has the right spacing - then you will know how far to wind it each time. If this is even your question....? :)

Indeed it was, thank you efla!

It's a bowsey compared to the digital, but it's much more fun to tinker with. Less delicate too!

Did you get this from ebay? Just out of interest, im looking to get an old camera (one of those russian surplus rangefinders that seem to be sold in bulk). Can you point me toward any other dealers?
