    He was only 62. RIP.

Wow, he died so young; no matter how poor the movie was, my interest always increased exponentially when I heard Winston was attached for the SFX. He really was one of the best, if not they best, effects wizard there was.

His passing definitely heralds the beginning of the end for "true", old school FX work, what with CGi so prevalent these days.

The guy was a genius. He made a huge contribution to the movies he was involved in.

    RIP, Stan.

Just read about it, a great loss to our dwindling reserves of true SFX artists. That endoskeleton in The Terminator still works for me, nearly a quarter of a century later.
    Respect due.
    Stan Winston - RIP

Normally when some one famous dies I couldn't give a ****. But I have to say that the news of Stans death has actually upset me a bit.The guy was a real genius,he has sucessfully worked through out different times ,under a **** load of major directors and his work has almost always excited and filled me full of wonder. He was probably the greatest illusionist of our time.He will be sadly missed.

Holy crap  I'd no idea he was sick for so long. What a huge loss to the visual effects world! :( At least his memory will live on in all his amazing work.
    RIP

wow! that is one impressive imdb page. Hadn't realized there was one person that was involved in all of those great special effects movies. Definitely a huge loss to the industry and, sadly, probably another nail in the coffin of classical visual effects. He probably leaves behind a void that CGI will fill.

    RIP LEGEND

Man, what a legend! He gave us some of the greatest icons in recent cinema thanks to his sheer talent and imagination. I'll never forget that story he told of how he was on a plane with James Cameron designing the Predator. Cameron saw him drawing it and suggested adding the claws to the mouth thus giving us the lovable reggie-alien we all know & love!

I remember being forced to watch Wrong Turn which I didn't want to at the time but once I saw his name as a producer on the starting credits I knew that at least I'd have some great visual entertainment.

RIP Stan. Thanks for all the movie magic.

    R.I.P.

He always put in the effort, even for B movies like Komodo he wouldn't do a half job.

    Legend.

Was going to say the exact same thing.

    It's a great shame indeed...
