Safari - maybe in Sergenti or Okavango Delta?

    My girlfriend and I (both 27) did a few days of safari in South Africa a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. I'm currently recovering from some surgery with more to come in 6 weeks and should be fit to travel by mid-September so our thoughts are turning to booking a holiday as we haven't been able to make plans until the surgery is out of the way.

    We loved the safari and both love the idea of either seeing a large scale land animal migration and/or seeing the amazing concentration of wildlife at the Okavango Delta.

    Budget is probably max €5,000 and we'd like to build this into an overall 2 week holiday (i.e. building in some relaxation time too), but to be honest, we did our South Africa holiday on the cheap by arranging everything ourselves, so I'd be interesting in seeing what we could arrange ourselves and compare this to booking a package with a travel agency. We could then make a decision on whether the trade-off in extra hassle is merited by the cost saving.

    What would be the best time to go to either of these places - want to make sure we don't miss a migration or see the Delta when it's dry?

    Of course, if it doesn't make sense to go to either of these places at that time of year (we could delay to October if needed) or due to the cost, we'd love to hear suggestions on other places we should consider. Anywhere that has the added bonus of allowing us to fit in some scuba diving somewhere in the holiday would be great too. Thanks!
