I just got a Carlsberg Draftmaster as a gift but have no idea where I can get the carlsberg kegs. The website suggested on the box (www.draughtmaster.co.uk) does not ship to Ireland.
I am based in south Dublin.

Anyone know how I can get the kegs in Dublin

Tesco's is listed on the site so I'd say that they might do them or might be able to get them. Try the contact us form on the website aswell, they might be able to tell you if any of the off licence chains in Dublin do them or a supplier in Ireland.

Tesco's said they no longer stocl them and have no intention of in the future. I contacted the website via email alos, but have not recieved any responses. I was hoping someone on here may know or have one and be able to tell me.

An it looks like the tap system may have been designed not to accommodated other 5l kegs

Tesco and Dunnes Store do them.

Great, Any idea which branches of dunnes , would dunnes in cornelscourt have them? or which tescos have you seen them in (Ballybrack, Dundrum??)?

Cheers, I can nearly taste the beer now.

Except the OP isn't really looking for a keg so much as some kind of plastic bag with a hose attached.

Think you guys are getting the wrong idea here.

The carlsberg draughtmaster is a home based beer tap that you connect to specialised 5 Ltr Kegs of Carlsberg (only, you can't use the other kegs you get shops like heineken or the ones you get in Lidl etc). See attached website: http://www.carlsbergdraughtmaster.co.uk/

I was given one of these as a fathers day gift from my lovely wife and son. but now it seems that I can;t get the kegs anywhere in Ireland and the online shop recommended in the website does not deliver to Ireland.

Does anyone know how I can get these specialised kegs for my new beer dispensing unit? I am getting very thristy and disappointed. I have already sent a email to Carlsberg but have not had any reply.

Friends in the UK is about the only method I can think of. And, depending on the longevity of the beer, get as many as you can because they won't be making them for ever.

I'd be afraid this will go the same way as the short-lived Guinness Surger product line.

They appear to be suing a high barrier plastic and they believe it will keep fresh for 21 days

I meant more the longevity while sealed. The OP's machine has a built-in obsolence. The more packs bought, the longer the machine will remain useful (unless it breaks and then you're left with a useless machine and bags of flat undrinkable lager), so stockpiling seems to me to be the best way to get most use out of the device. The correct amount to stockpile at a time will depend on the lifespan of the unused packs.

Sainsburys up north apparently do them.

I wouldn't be arsed to be honest, they are generally very very poor,
and capacity isn't the best either,
imagine having 3 or 4 mates over, you'd have to change it every hour

Thats a great post, cheers. So I am to bin this expensive unit that I got as a gift?

I am pretty phished off that Carlsberg can produce this item and then proceed to not stock any kegs in Ireland. Whats wrong with our market? Or has the previous poster answered that question.

Do you think I could ask any off licenses (oddbins or o'briens)to see if the can source me some specially?

What's wrong with our market is that Carlsberg do not operate in it. They are quite a large operation in UK, making beers like Tetley's Bitter and various versions of Carlsberg itself. But they don't trade in Ireland. Diageo pay to use their brand and recipe for a lager they make themselves. Diageo Ireland also handles the import of another Carlsberg beer, Tuborg. But Ireland is not on Carlsberg's own map.

So, no, I don't think you should bin the item. But you will have to source your own kegs for it directly from the UK as you're unlikely to see them sold here.

Edit: Actually, there's a thought. The official contact for Carlsberg in Ireland is through the contact named here. If you haven't done so already, this is the guy to talk to. I doubt he'll be able to do much for you, though.
