I dropped my phone in to the toilet the other day and i went it with it to the phone shop and the girl told me i would have to get a new phone but that my old one might work in a few weeks. Does anyone know if this is right cause i lost all my numbers and i met a nice girl Friday night and i'd like to get her number again, thanks.

Leave it on the radiator or in the hot press for a few days.
Then try to switch it on again.

Sometimes the phone will work again after all the water has evaporated.
Not all the time though as my gf found out recently (I paid for the phone :()

I had a moto once that went through a washing machine cycle. It didn't work 100% afterwards but after sticking it in the hotpress- it slowly came back to life.

I had my numbers saved to phone instead of sim, is their any way of getting my numbers back without using the original phone?

Did you dial the number at all or send her a text, even if you dialed it for a second or so, the network should have a record.
Call the customer care, explain what happened and they should be able to give you the details.

Yeah as biko said, leave the phone some where nice and warm for a couple of days. Also when you do try to turn it on, if it doesn't work try another battery in it. Sometimes the battery gets fried but the phone is still grand

Leave your phone in a box of rice and put the box into the hot press. No joke. The rice will evaporate all the moisture on the boards.

Make sure you take as much off the phone apart as you can before you put it in the hotpress, that way it will dry better

If you had any contact with that personwho your trying to get the number of, ring the customer care of whichever network you are on, tell them what time it was. The customer care operator might be a cúnt asking you personal questions for a few minutes but you'll get it eventually. WHat network are you on btw?

In regard to your phone, it's a very touch and go situation. Depends on hwo long it was in the water, how you shaked it when you took it out, and most of all on the model of the phone. I had a v630i which fell into a pint of water before and I took it out carefully and quickly, it still worked when I turned it on a few hours later. Important thing now is to put the phone in heat for as long as you can, with the battery removed. And not boiling heat either, a hot radiator should be as hot as it's allowed to get...

I had the same problem with mine, I tried to get it dry but didn't work, so I brought it over to local phone unlock/repair shop in Tallaght. I think it was arount €30

As said above take out the battery and cover if you can also leave it open.
