    What do you's think of this group? Was alex turner better in the arctic monkeys?

    I think the whole thing is marketing genius. Even regardless of what you think of the music.

    Alex Turner get's right back in the press while Arctic Monkeys have gone temporarily off the radar and Miles Kane get's to super-charge his profile by being one half of a group with Alex Turner in it. (Incidentally both bands are signed to Domino Records). The Puppets do great and into the bargain, Miles Kane gets a shed-load of publicity for his main band the Rascals who happened to go on tour a few weeks back. Everyone wins. Deltasonic Records (who 'own' the Rascals) will owe the lads/Domino (or whoever pushed the idea) a few pints...I wonder if it was their idea :)

    And the best part is (in my humble opinion) it's all pretty good music too.

    I tihnk the whole album/project was/is rushed. Right down to the artwork, i think they had a really good alubm in them but put this out way too quickly. Strings are exception - kudos final fantasy


    (I am stealing the opinion of my lovely girlfirend and should credit her here. )

    Completly agree with you... I really wanted to like them because I love arctic monkeys but I thought more effort and time could have been put into it and the genius of Alex Turner would have came..

    I wouldn't really class myself as an Arctic Monkeys fan but I have to say I like the Last Shadow Puppets
    ''My Mistakes Were Made For You'' is easily the best thing Alex Turner has done so far IMO

    I'd really like to love these guys, but man, I just hate their voices. I really, really hate their voices. And it's not the kind of stuff where you can kind of hear past it, the vocals are right there at the front.

    Good stuff from Owen Pallett though, definitely.
