    welcome to the club!
I have pix, flickr and any other page to link pictures blocked, same to all proxy avoidance sites
posts with pictures are only read at night when at home, which are most of them

one way to curb it is to use something like www.logmein.com to connect to your home computer while at work, if not blacklisted it can't be blocked as it uses the same ports as regular browsing

Using logmein.com while very useful is a bad idea if your company has a strict IT Policy, also they could easily log your login details and access could be gained to your PC at home.

that's only valid if they have a keylogger on my pc
traffic is 256 bits encrypted, if you know what it is you'll know how difficult and how much effort does it take to crack

I had a similar problem when I started my new job. I went from completely open internet access in one company to a near completely locked down one in my next employeer. My solution was expensive but it is portable, I bought an iPhone :-)

there's also much sneakiness to be had by getting an igoogle homepage and using the flickr widget... it shows you the mobile version of flickr, in your google window.

Not that I would ever, eh, no... nothing. Didn't say anything.

256 istough to crack, but its pretty simple for IT dept to get a keylogger on to your desktop

I thought there was something wrong with my uploading system here and just removed the photos that were not visible.

It's good to know that the issue has been resolved.

Maybe the IT Dept browse flickr and made the mistake of blocking it...either that or a manager does and wasn't happy when they blocked it :D
