Vodafone: Better for Prepay than Billpay?

Maybe I'm just seeing things, but has anyone noticed that being on prepay is more beneficial than being on billpay? On prepay, you get unlimited texts if you top up €20 a month, insanely cheap international calling to name a few.

What's the deal? Why are people on contracts getting punished?

In general because they get heavily discounted handsets ?

The free texts which you speak of are to Vodafone numbers only. All other texts cost 19cent. Calls to Vodafone cost 19cent/min and to other networks cost 49cent/min.

Considering the majority of people I know who are on vodafone are more talkers then texters, free texts to them is pretty pointless.

And 19cent to other networks is a joke!

Once my new phone arrives, I'm porting 2 numbers over to o2. They've got far better details, especially for data plans...

at the end of the day it is really down to you, aka the customer, who will determine your bill, not the networks.

people need to look at their phone usage e.g. am i a talker or a texter, what network are the 10 most frequently dialed numbers on etc etc.

imo there is little or no difference between vodafone-O2-meteor now, whether on billpay or prepay. it just depends on how you use your phone. the networks are still going to get their pint of blood off you regardless of whether you choose to be on billpay or prepay.

    just my 2-cents of course!
