Hey all, I just picked up ny new N95 this morning and i was wondering what applications people are using on it.
I really want to know if anyone has a universal remote app which actually works. I checked out this site:
    www.mosh.nokia.com
which has a good few apps on it but i'm always wary of putting crap on a new phone.
    Anyway, what's ye're suggestions?

Nokia maps 2.0 is definitely worth downloading, vast improvement on the old version.

Of all the apps I downloaded the only few that have genuinely been of use to me are

    Nokia Maps 2.0
    Google maps
    Calcium calculator
    Internet radio
    Gmail

I found Opera Mini to be very buggy, crashing all the time, slow to start up and respond. It has some nice features but I prefer the default browser

I found the same with Internet Radio. After installing, I could only use maybe three times, then it wouldn't open the application. Got my local Nokia Repair Center to completely wipe the phone and reinstall the firmware but made no difference. Getting it from nokia WAP too.

If you have probs with operamini 4.1 go to www.mini.opera.com from your phone... Scroll down and there's the option to download om 3 - it's rock-solid!
Or go to www.teashark.com - teashark is based on the same tech as safari/nokia's built-in browser, but uses only 10-15 percent of the data; has tabbed browsing with thumbnails etc... It's at least as fast as om and much faster than the 95's built in browser...(om3 doesn't let you save pages and it uses the phone's built-in browser for downloads... Where did you install 4.1? You have to install it in phone's memory! NOT mass memory!!!)

handy taskman is a good app to replace the nokia "taskmanager" (you know, when you press and hold the menu button it shows open apps) - handy taskman gives you more options, plus it lets you kill frozen apps, so no more taking out the battery to do that!

at mosh.nokia.com you'll also find core player, a media player that plays loads of video formats...

emtube is good for searching/playing youtube videos and .flv files stored on your phone (locally stored files mustn't have higher res than 320x240 though! - same with the youtubia app!)

paid for apps: profimail is great if you have many different email accounts (no limit...); setup is easy, attachments open ok etc etc

same company (lonely cat games) make jukebox: great mp3 player that can download lyrics for your tracks that are then displayed in tune to music; also downloads cover art; builtin internet radio etc etc... Very good imo!!! All lonely cat products btw can later be transferred to your next phone; so if you get rid of your n95, they generate a new reg key if you email them your new phone's imei....
