Need single $bills for tipping!

    hello, can someone please tell me how i go about getting plenty of single $bills for tipping on a caribbean holiday. i have plenty of $50 bills here, could i straight swap them in a bank possibly? oh and its in Dominican Rep. so i cant just get change there. thanks in advance

    I had a similar predicament some years back in Dom Rep, I changed some
    at the hotel reception at others at a bank in the hotel complex.

    Must say I found the bill-breaker machines in the casinos in Vegas dead
    handy for this on my last couple of trips when I was looking for small
    notes for tips.

    yeah a bill breaker machine would be handy! so the hotel reception was able to give you change in dollars?

    punta cana. just phoned my local bank and as i was expecting, they dont stock currency in low denominations!

    has anyone got any other ideas?
