Round the world flights

Planning a trip at the moment. I'll be heading in october and hitting india, thailand and south america. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for flights. I've been googling like mad and there's a hugh range of options and they seem to vary massivly in price. Some are over €4000 whereas others are €1500. There's even cheaper, but they don't go to the places I want. Some are really annoying and if you add in a city, it tells you there's no flights leaving it. One site for example has flights to india from london, but no other flights from india so I'd have to double back to london and start again.

So anyone know any good sites I should check out?

    And thanks in advance.

The best thing to do is settle on a route and then go into a travel agent to see if it is possible and with which airlines.
Then go home and see if you can find it online cheaper.

www.attitudetravel.com and www.skyscanner.net are good resources for finding out which airlines go where.

I've always found Trailfinders great for long-haul and RTW advice.

I'm doing something similar, with Oz and New Zealand thrown in there. I'm probably going to get a 7-stop RTW ticket. Should cost about 2200 or so. You might get away with a 5-stop. Not sure how much cheaper that would be though.
