Hope I am in the right thread - we have a Sky Box and card installed a few months ago - and we get a limited amount of stations - can we change to proper Sky?

What channels do you get? You either have Sky or you don't. No such thing as proper Sky.

I presume you may mean you got a digibox with a UK FTA card already activated from an installer. This gives you most of the UK channels (BBC, ITV, C4, C5) but no RTE, Sky 1 or any of the other channels.

Sure, you can upgrade to 'proper' Sky by subscribing to one of their packages, costs about €30 p.m. for the basic one with RTE and a selection of others (kids stuff , Discovery, etc.), you can tailor your selection from a couple of sub-packages (check out their web-site, ROI section).

If you do subscribe, you can get a new Sky+ box as part of the deal which is definitely worth it. You can always sell on the FTA box that you have already with the card.

If you're interested, PM me so I can 'recommend a friend' and we can split the €75 ;)
