    Any recommendations for a backpack for a macbook air ? need one that can carry the air plus maybe one textbook and a notepad.

    Get a Crumpler backpack if you're anywhere near the states in the next while. I love mine.

    can't go wrong with crumpler.

    although i prefer using a crumpler gimp sleeve and then putting it into a normal backpack/bag.
