I am from west/ mid Cork region.Macroom region.I have a Nokia telephone, a lovely phone, Xpress Music .My problem is that O2 reception down here is absolute crap.Calls dropping, low to zero reception bars.I am fed up of this lousy service and am going to switch to a better operator as soon as possible.I do realize that the area is mountainous , but its up to the service operator to solve this engineering problem,Anybody else have this problem?

    cheers

You might want to change providers. I would suggest vodafone or 3.

I dont live in a mountainous area and found 02 crap, switched to vodafone, and was very very happy, lost my phone and moved back to o2 one day-lets just say i was back on vodafone in under a week. i've been on 3 too-service isn't bad but if u need cust care u need the patience of a saint! back on vf right now and I'm happy with them, probably the best, sher just grab a vf sim and test it out or ask someone in ur area with vodafone what the coverage is like. If o2 wont unlock ur phone or u think u wouldnt have enough spent tell them ur going on a 4 month trip to Ecuador and they dont have a partner network there and u need to use ur phone there. I picked Ecuador as 02 dont have a roaming agreement there and they're more likely to unlock your phone for u. Hope some of this helps:cool:;)

That being said, O2's coverage is still CRAP in a lot of areas in this country. They've been trying to get our company business here - promised us that coverage had been improved greatly in this area.

Salesguy arrives down and i take him on a tour of the facility here - with my vodafone phone in my hand and he with his O2 phone - the difference in coverage was astounding - 02 just not up to it.

His salesman tactics went straight out the window - didn't even try and convince us - just shook our hands and went straight out to his car.

    Thats a good salesman!
Most of them would sit with you half the evening and try and bull**** you and waffle stories
At least he admitted defeat and went on his merry way!
