    That's interesting. Is one result statistically significant to make a general statement about the future accuracy of boards votes though...

    I think in general if you have a random sample of the population, you only need a few hundred votes to have a good idea. That's how they knew it would probably be a "No" result after counting only a minority of ballots. The question I was wondering was whether the members of boards were a random sample. Given the average age would be a good bit less than the national average etc. Certaintly years ago I doubt it would have been but I guess we can officially say boards member are now quite random!

    At 330+ votes, that is actually a high enough poll for boards.ie. In addition, its an exit poll, so it excludes some or most I don't knows / won't votes.

    That said, I was surprised and suspect its an anomally.
