theoben air rifle

did anyone here come across Theoben air rifle before ? I was looking at a second hand one " Theoben Eliminator " .22 with tasco scope and silencer, it is a break barrel but not a springer it charges a gas ram , single shot , seems in good clean condition. Checked spec on Theoben web site apperantly it is around 26 ft/lb . how does 600 euro sound ?

hi tom i have never had a air rifle for what it is worth
1/cz452 .22 rinfire long rifle and 3x9x40scope and mounts all brand new
for 600 euro:) the air rifle just like my .22 will also need a fire arms cert:D

sounds expensive for a springer or a gas ram gun,for the same money you could get a secondhand PCP,HW100 or AirArms 410 way nicer guns for the money.

Lived in UK few years ago and was into the airgun scene there. Theoben are excellent rifles and the gas ram system is lovely. Very smooth compared to an actual "springer". Not sure what they are price wise. Have a look at some UK gun dealers sites for ant idea of current prices ?

Theoben are one of the best air rifles, but as was said a .22 long rifle brand new with scope would cost that, and you have to apply for the same lincence. id go for a PCP air rifle if buying one, i had falcon raptor and it was brill but bought CZ452 now. better gun

please excuse the ignorance, i know what pcp and springers are, but what is "gas ram"? incidently im now on month 4 awaiting my firearms cert for my gamo vipermax springer, they sent my form to phoenix park with the wrong (my) address and it got sent back and its been sent back to dublin, i might get it in a few years:rolleyes:

Gas Ram is like a ram on the boot of your car. it compresses when pushed in and works like a spring but alot smoother, less recoil.

Is that the system where there's a reservoir of air for one shot from the action of the ram?

I had a .22lr before and the reason I thought about an air rifle was

1- back yard and in garage plinkering and targets (should save 15 min drive which would be the difference in doing it at all some nights)

2- in shed and back yard small vermin control

600 sounds dear to me aswell but new pcp s are more.
still undecided.
