    Spoilers on I guess

Fringe is about weird scientific happenings that are followed up by FBI agent and leads to an eventual supposed global corporation consipiracy. The two hour season premiere gives a lot of potential good plotlines in later episodes. This series looks quite promising. Lieutenant Daniels makes an appearance from the wire, always good to see members of the wire cast in good roles.

I have to say that this blew me away. If they keep it up this will be the next biggest thing on TV.

Ye was really impressed at the start, the rest of the show was good but not what the start made me expect, i was going to vote good but i changed to amazing twards the end because it looked like
they had solved things, i mean when your man woke up he said she was in his dream, they knew how to heal him, they knew what the compount was, how it got on the plane ect, i was getting very dissapointed because i wasent seeing enough mystery (aka cancer man). But with the last 10 mins brought the show back, a running mystery/conspiracy is in all my fav current shows like dexter, lost, bsg, (prison break isent a fav but the whole company coverup).

Well you know what i mean, am i alone in loving a show with mystery? i mean all my fav shows have a running plot(s) that have me stumped

I think for the LOST fans they will love this. It is pretty much lost from another angle (imho) meets x-files. For example you have no clue who really is the good/bad guys. Pilot is ok, like lost there a number of weird things happening that may be related to overall plot.

    Something I noticed was
the receptionist appeared to be pausing and listening. Seemed to suggest she was in contact with someone just before handing over the material. Maybe more then her arm is robotic. Also there is too much broad fringe science for two scientists. Maybe its related to some alien tech?

Excellent, lets make some LSD :D

Pretty good overall, a lot better than I was expecting. Again, it is a bit too sci-fi for my liking but good enough to keep me interested for the next few episodes.

I really enjoyed it but I found it to be terribly predictable.
As soon as we saw them in bed together and found out they were "partners" I KNEW he was gonna die. Then to compound the issue by having him say "I love you" He may as well have been wearing a red shirt!

I liked Joshua Jackson in it though and he pulled it off very well. I wasn't too sure about her but in the end decided to like her. :D

    Looking forward to more!

Just watched it this evening - probably my most ancticipated of all the pilots. And overall, I really liked it but was not flawless by any means.

Firstly the good points.. the direction was spot on by Abrams as always (I assumed he directed the pilot) - the free-hanging titles for locations was VERY nifty and also the resuscitation of Olivia between flashes of brightness and silence was very nicely done.

Casting was also pitch perfect - from an excellent three leads (Torv, Jackson and Noble) down to Lance Reddick (though under-used in the pilot).

Onto the bad points - I think maybe they brought in too much too soon in the pilot. We get the idea of 'fringe science' thrown at us, along with a couple of fictional events where it was attributed and then we get the idea of 'Massive Dynamics' and what they do. I suppose it was to make the viewer come back for more (a lá the 'Lost' pilot) but it just seemed too much too quickly in the latter half of the pilot.

And also Joshua Jackson's little sarcastic quips might need to be toned down. During the scene where Walter was telling Olivia about the "shared brain state experiment", practically every second line we had Pacey popping in with a retort. You're not in the Creek now, bucko!

Really looking forward to the series though.. definitely one to watch. And Abrams can practically do no wrong!

I thought it was great, just the right amount of sci-fi for me. X-Files didnt really sit well with me, at least in part because it started out almost as individual episodes and then turned full blown conspiracy mode...

This we are slowly teased into the conspiraciness of it all and the not knowing who is the good guy and bad is a great touch, imho.

And I also could tell that
the guy was a gonner. From the "I love you" to the chasing through cargo containers, I was very much just waiting for it to happen. Did not see the twists coming though, really good in that respect. Also, we're not entirely sure if he is dead or not. Since they talked about reading brain patterns up to 6 hours after death, but also about simple forms of ressurection. So "question him" could easily mean ressurect him and ask him or go into his brain and get it out of his dreamy state.

Anyways, on the whole, quite enjoyable, but I'm not convinced it will be a huge success. Perhaps a bit too sci-fi-y for most, which is a shame...

Earlier in this thread I mentioned that the direction in the pilot was superb.. and how I assumed it was JJ Abrams who directed the pilot? Turns out I was wrong!

Alex Graves actually directed the 'Fringe' pilot but he did a damn good job!

He directed 5 episodes of the sorely missed series 'Journeyman' last year.. not to mention no less than 34 episodes of 'The West Wing'. He's also a producer on 'Fringe', as he was on 'Journeyman' and 'The West Wing'.

Finally got around to watching it. Very enjoyable and definitely something to follow. I do hope that there's a little more mystery in future episodes though - Massive Dynamics were pretty much portrayed as the big bad guys for the season.

Nicely cast, some good scenes (the plane and dream sequence scenes in particular) and a great score. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I thought it was good, could be a watcher. Few things annoyed me, the professor in the first half of the episode was annoying but once the ep. moved on he was ok. Jacksons characters little throw away quips were very annoying. Oh and the German at the start was pathetic!

Thought the whole thing was excellent, but the scene with the Prof watching Spongebob was priceless. Torv is uberhot - has she been in anything else before?

The only thing I recognise in her IMDb profile is 'The Secret Life of Us'..

    .. she is gorgeous though!

Enjoyed this - shows lots of potential. Sure it's easy to classify as 'The X-Files' by way of 'Alias'/'Lost' but that's a good comparison.
Cast were pretty good although it was indeed obvious
that Marc Valley's character was a goner. I mean this was 'Alias' all over again - get recruited into a secret organisation and have your loved one die :) Admittedly nice twist that he was working for someone else...

Joshua Jackson's character was a little too quipy but they'll most likely find the right balance as the show goes on. Same with the mystery-of-the-week: it was good but a bit too easily resolved.

For 'Lost'/'Alias' fans - did you notice the numbers?
Steig was passenger 108 (the sum of the 'Lost' numbers) of 147 passengers (47 being a central number in 'Alias'). Also there were 47 people revealed in total to have re-appeared suddenly all over the world

Little thing about the music - most of the score was borrowed from 'Lost'/'Alias' but what was with using James Horner's 'Aliens' score in places? I noticed it in particular because they used bits from that score from the original 'Lost' pilot. Some nice pieces from 'Sunshine' too.
