I don't know if this was mentioned before, but I just viewed it last week and found it really moving.

I was especially impressed by the victims and by Fr. Tom Doyle for their courage. The whole enterprise is worthy of commendation for the way it has confronted the powerful.

I just came away from this a few moments ago and I'm amazed I didn't see this sooner. It is a harrowing documentary on paedophile Fr.O'Grady and the consequent cover -up of his abuses by the catholic church.

Does anyone know if this has been broadcast on RTE? I found that the BCC (Broadcast Complaints Commission) here in Ireland upheld a complaint against RTÉ and Dave Fanning for an attack on the Catholic Church. The complaint, made by a Mr Frank Burke, argued that Mr Fanning, a film reviewer and DJ with RTE, had displayed a complete lack of impartiality as regards the Catholic Church during a film review of " Deliver us From Evil" on the Marian Finucane Show.[http://www.cinews.ie/article.php?artid=3720]

Now, I strongly believe in impartiality in all news rooms but especially our public broadcaster. Anything less would be propaganda. With such contempt of fairness in dealing with child abuse, how can the church , or an affiliate there of, turn to an institution such as RTE and complain of fairness? There is nothing more definite in life then the protection of children. If an institution harbors known child abusers then it must be seen to that it never happens again. If such a problem is allowed to be swept under the carpet then our progress in every other aspect of life is pointless. It is in the public interest that this is broadcast, if it hasn't been already.
