    Depends on your policy tbh. A lot of (most?) companies don't seem to mind, but some definitely do. Also, afaik, you may get a reduced value on your car if you write it off and claim off your own policy.

    IIRC not having a valid NCT will not affect any insurance policy. At the time the NCT was being introduced wasn't this a gaurentee that was given?

    Check your policy as they differ, mine clearly states that I am
    insured as long as I have a valid driving license and a current NCT.

    Agree - read your policy.

    Mine says nothing about the NCT.
