ah you had me all excited there.....GT's are SVO special order only and have a plaque on the inner wing with the order number on it...around 200 are reckoned to have been built a lot of which were converted to savage spec (3 litre V6) when new...

1600GT built as a special order....super shell and trim with GT running gear ...uprated brakes and suspension....GT engine and gearbox...4 branch manifold and larger diameter exhaust....you could specify what you wanted on them,. such as diff ratio etc......my last one came with the build sheet from Dagenham showing what was to be fitted.....

I have fitted 5 1/2" early escymex wheels in lieu of GT 4 1/2" wheels and so far all I have done is added a 1600E -stylwe grille (mostly black) but omitted the spots....for this reason Halogen wipac headlights are fitted....the bumpers are stating off...oh and ive lowered it a tad :-)

Nice work, ford were great back in the day for mix n match with their cars, particularly the cortina, couldnt you spec the MK3 with L,XL and GXL trimpacks, and there was different versions of each too,i have a badge off a long dead MK3(WTI 18) that says "L decor",i presume that was a sort of limited edition with a few extra bits thrown in...
