3 Contract Query

Have upgraded my phone with 3 recently and got a letter in the post from 3 saying "Remember by upgrading your phone you are committing to further minimum contract with 3. This new minimum term will end 8/2/2009" I am sure that it is meant to be 2 Aug 09, does this mean that I can get out of contract in Feb 09? I am happy enough with 3, it would just be useful to know

depends, when did you upgrade? if you're due an upgrade in august then thats how long your commitment is until, unless its a typo and they'll let it slide, which they probably wont, could always ring them and ask......

When I got my upgrade off 3 last year, it was in late June although I had originally signed up in September. By taking the upgrade, I was agreeing to stay on a further 14 months (2 years after first sign up).

When did you initially join 3?

they could have accidentally had the date in american format. 8/2/09 is the second of august in america

I joined when 3 first started in Ireland and upgraded at the end of last month, some I assume its meant to be 02/08/09, the real question is if I kicked up a fuss would 3 be forced to finish the contract on the date stated in the letter.
It probably in american format but it seems a bit strange as the date at the top of the letter is 28/05/08 (obviously uk/ireland format).

Joined 3 in December 2005, got my 1st upgrade in January 2007 (13months later), it seems to be every January now.

If you get a call in January about an upgrade, or if you check your eligibility online well then you will know. Not like you can do much anyways but wait...

should be feb as we dont use the american format, just keep the letter and if they say no just say u have a letter saying feb:)
