Broadtalk and linksys RTP300

A friend has an account with Broadtalk and uses a linksys RTP300. His BB provider is a wireless provider as adsl and cable are not available in the rural South West.

It was working fine but now will not make or receive any calls. The phone registers but that is all. If I change the provider from Broadtalk to Blueface and put in my username and password I can make and receive calls no problem. So there is no hardware problem and the settings work for Blueface. and with a couple of minor exceptions are the same as my Linksys PAP2 ATA.

Does anyone have an RTP300 working on Broadtalk and if so can they post the settings.

The wireless broadband is supplied behind a NAT router so there is no public IP address. It could be that Broadtalk have made changes and although the phone registers calls are lost behind the NAT. When calling the number you hear one ring and then number unavailable. If you use a soft phone to call you get one ring then an internal server error.

Broadtalk customer support is non existant.

Any suggestions other than the obvious change service provider to one who understands the meanings of both service and provider.

Certainly sounds like something at Broadtalks end and given the problems their users have reported on this forum over the years it really isn't surprising.

Other then switching from Broadtalk the only other thing your friend can do is try to get Broadtalk to provide support.

Try their three office contact numbers perhaps - http://www.broadtalk.ie/content/index.php?p=about&c=contact_us

The Cork number came up unobtainable. The Dublin number used to get through to an operator who took your number and promised a support team operative would call you. Iits 3 weeks since the last call I made and I'm still waiting for a call. emails remain unanswered.

The last time we tried to ring the Dublin number from three different standard Eircom land lines we just got a recorded message saying we did not have enough credit to make the call.

He's moved to Blueface and has now got service.

Good to hear it got sorted, its a shame that in this day and age a company can advertise services that they are clearly not providing or will to even allow customers to contact them
