Anyone else unlucky enough to have bought this phone?
My god its awful. Started off fine, but had gradually, like a pc, got slow and crap, buttons don't work and it randomly restarts etc. Menu is not as good as my last 6300.

Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Mine is not giving me that much trouble. Occasionally get out of memory errors, but that's about it.

It's normally a very good phone, have you tried bringing it back to where you bought it to check about repair.

Keyboard not working and turning off- it may not be the phones fault though.

mine is fine, sometimes after a sync with a lot of mails it can hang for a minute or two but otherwise never had an issue. Sound like a bad handset.

have a love/hate relationship with mine. On one hand its great to make skype calls to friends for free using fring. However its a right pain in the nads when you slide the phone to answer a call and it reboots.....there was an update released for it, but its not available for the vodafone version

Prob bad Vodafone firmware, get it back to them and stamp your feet when lots of people in shop. Usually very good with higher end phone users.

Yeah, I'm having problems with mine too. General system errors, can't read the SIM card, slow as molasses and it seems to get confused if I get two TXT in at the same time...

I'm replacing mine with an N78, ordering today hopefully :)

You need to get it sent for repair, if the buttons don't work it's definatly faulty, you also need to get the software updated, it's a great phone sounds like you just got a bad one...

Works sweet on 3, I just won 200 quid playin aces royal poker on it before I got out of bed this morning....

Expansys. Also getting the DC-8 charger... it's 'bout time Nokia came out with one of those!

Mine works great, very happy with it. Last phone was a nokia 6630 and I loved it so I wanted something similar. This is even better. Update the firmware as soon as you can.
That definately sorted out the problems I had. And Fring is the business!

I agree absolutely sh1te phone only thing it has going for it is Wi-Fi I sold mine after 3 weeks - too easy to scratch, kept restarting (and the firmware update didn't make a difference), camera rubbish even for a 2mp, slow, speaker went after a week, slider mechanism dodgy at the best of times just a flimsy, badly made phone like most Nokias over the last few years.

i've had an e65 since october. It does scratch easily and the camera isn't great but the rest of your problems were the result of a faulty handset and are not reflective of every e65 ever made

I was thinking about geting one of these. This does read like a faulty handset.

if there's one close to you, bring it to a Nokia repair centre yourself, they might keep it a few days but you'll more than likely get a new phone

had desperate problems with mine and in the end snapped it. have seen a customer bring theirs back 7 times and it was never replaced. it very annoying paying for a phone and it not working, mine kept freezing, saying insert sim and saying no memory. man it was soooooo annoying

menu not as good as your 6300's??? Oh, come on...really...
Anyhoe: button's not working? Restarts? It's obviously damaged or needs a fw update or or or... It's not normal for an e65 to do that, you know...it's not like millions enjoy "crap", and are eagerly awaiting the e66. You got a lemon, and maybe you did sth to worsen it?

I have an E65 that I intended to replace a 6233 with (my personal phone).
I was intending to then replace an aging N70 that I use for work (that itself was extremely slow) with the 6233, but after 2 days I instead used the E65 to replace the N70 as I don't need texting functions in work and that's where the E/N series seem to stall first, and the keypad was awful for texting.

The 6233 is pretty good most of the time (except that for some reason I can't send MMS messages anymore despite downloading the settings again several times) but in general most new Nokias released in the last few years either look or perform well below par as the features/gimmicks have gone up and the quality control goes down.

The last "solid" phone that Nokia released in my opinion was the 6310i and the battery on it would actually last for a week (not 3/4 days like the newer ones)

If it wasn't for the fact that my one and only experience with a SE was a T610 that froze/lost signal in good coverage areas and drove me mad with it's own version of predictive texting, I'd try another as I just don't even like the look of most new Nokias and toys like 3/5/whatever MP cameras, or MP3 players (thatr's why I have a 6 Disc MP3 Changer in the car) don't interest me at all - I just want a phone that gives good coverage, is easy to text with and actually looks like a phone.

I was given one for Christmas by my employer (A mobile network) when I left I offered to give iit back as it was awful. A lot of people had problems wit their's as well.

However, I signed up to Meteor Mail and bought one for that and it is very good, you would never believe they were the same model phone. I've had it now for four months and I think it is great. I'm impressed with meteor mail as well btw.

I'm wondering is it a crappy vodafone firmware even though my e65 was an unlocked 3 branded one. But alot of my customers who have the vodafone version complain about it! Any chance yours was vodafone to start with?

i've had one not on 3 or voda or your network;) I wanted to bash it with a blunt hammer untill it's battery bled!! It was jumping networks like a hooligan on the run, 2g, 2.5g, 3g, 3.5g, they phone didn't know what it was dooing....no wonder it had a meltdown....

Some phones just don't suit some networks....op is right about v**a, your right about m**eo*, i'm right about 0*

E65 is an okay phone. It wasn't the most reliable E series phone. While I've not seen any phone killing bugs in the phones I've sold myself, when I had one, it would constantly restart after a while using the internet, which I use quite a bit.

I find it's alright, menus have a bit of a lag from time to time. I can wait an extra second to make a call!

My one problem with it, actually, this is a major issue, my beard gets stuck in the grooves around the screen when i'm talking on it. I even looked in the manual to see if these was a clean shaven clause.

    Any girls have this problem?
