anyone know how to replicate this type of style? eg
like what type of lighting, shutter speed etc? any obvious photoshop effects?

It looks like flash, without a reflector for that stark lighting, but plenty of separate flash units to eliminate shadow. Perhaps three lights on camera and 60 degrees either side, maybe a fourth behind the model. Shutter speed isn't an issue (probably 1/500 with all that light), unless you wanted to tone down the starkness and soften it with more ambient and reflected light.

There was a great Creative Lighting Guidebook included in the box with my Nikon Speedlight that had very clear example setups. It is the first link at Resources for Nikon's SB-800 Speedlight, http://softstonegroup.com/sb-800.html
