If its 20m or less you will get away with rg6 but if you really want to do it right I'd recommend WF100 or other equivalent CAI approved cable

thanks for that info, i already had the rg6 in and it is roughly 20-25m of a run
so i`ll just see if the engineers are happy to install with that
    thanks again

If its sky's own engineers they will be happy with a piece of wet string if they can get a picture on it, these guys are poorly paid so they need to do lots of jobs per day to make a wage. As the cable is already in i'd sat see how it works over time and if needs be replace it.

RG6 is OK for indoor use. It's flexible (but kinks easily - be careful). Outdoors it's only good for about 5 years because moisture gets through the PVC and causes the copper/aluminium foil to corrode and swell.

its only outside where it goes to the dish and a 3 metre drop behind the drainpipe at the front of the house, gonna double check for kinks though

    hello folks
    got sky+ installed on wednesday
the engineer was delighted that i had run in all the cables for him
when i returned home from work i discovered that he had left the off cuts inside behind the tv, the off cuts from the dish on the ground (beside the bin) and he didnt even put any type of protection on the connections at the lnb, and it hasnt stopped raining yet for me to dry them off and put some protection on them myself.
boy am i glad i ran the cables in myself
