    Hi vaughny,
Here's a mirror for the McAfee removal tool if the original link isn't working:
    http://majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Consumer_Product_Removal_Tool_d5420.html

It sounds like you may have other problems though. Follow the tasks in the sticky I've linked to underneath, it should help you out.

    Hi -annex-

thanks for your reply i havent been on the internet much lately but i now am and i want to fix the problems i have,
i tried that link again im not sure what to do on the page (im a noob when it comes to computers) when i click on the majorgeeks link it explains on the page what to do like click the removal tool.exe and wait for 2nd wndow etc but there doesnt seem to be a link to click on?
and im wondering am i best off completely getting rid of mcafee firstly and then sort out other problems like then go get a better antivirus like avg etc and fix virus's etc?? thanks again.

You should see a part labelled:

    Free Downloads From
    The Authors Site
    Majorgeeks FL
    Majorgeeks TX

    Click on any of those.
Here's a direct link to McAfee for it anyway:
    http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=107083&lc=1033

Yes you must get rid of McAfee first before installing another AV product. Then perform a scan with AVG or whichever AV you've chosen and then follow the steps in the sticky:

    hi

I went onto the old link again because the link from mcafee's site doesnt work and i tried before a few weeks ago on that link and same thing happened just says page cannot be displayed, anyways used the original link and clicked on what you said after about 30seconds the window opens up then i waited for it to close which it did but then the page that is displayed has listings of different things like avg and different things you download and it has the days date on top of page so im still lost lol.

Would you recommend that the OP completely turn-off McAfee before attempting to uninstall it?
