    Hi All,

Wonder if anyone has any recommendations for an external hdd that is capable of being connected to a router. Have a small family network at home with 3 laptops connected wirelessly to the standard router supplied by UTV with their broadband contract. Looking for something maybe 500GB or more, reliable and straightforward to set up - also maybe one that comes with software to easily back up the 3 comps.

Many thanks for any suggestions! :)

There are so many choices. Netgear have decent-sized drives with NAS functionality. If you use a Mac or run another OS apart from Windows, make sure any device you buy will be compatible.

The Drobo is popular also. Looks good, works well and has a high throughput. You can also buy a NAS server on its own to which/into which you connect/install your own hard drive(s). Be sure to avoid the Netgear Toaster anyway. Amazon reviews are very insightful. Decent selection of devices here.
