How to calculate overall subject marks?

I know this is a stupid question but....

For my course, every subject has both a written element and continuous element. I have my % mark for both of these for every subject.

If the written element is weighted at/worth 70% overall and CA is worth the final 30% how do I calculate my true mark per subject?

I'm sure there is just a simple forumla to work this out! :o

    All help appreciated

    engineering student yeah? :p

multiply your exam score by 0.7 and you continuous assesment by 0.3 and add them together.

    haha, :o:o

When the final year results are posted out, does it give the award eg 2.1,
    2.2 etc?

It depends on the subject and on the programme.

Some subjects are 50-50, some are 60-40, some are 70-30 etc.

On the programme side, some are a straightfoward calculation based on the number of credits, others have more complex rules.

You need to get your course documentation to find out the details.
