Yes its true there is a show in the red cow in september and yes there will be thais on the bill, Rob Doyle will fight a very well known name in Thailand, Ive seen his opponent fight as the main attraction in Raj.

Bridgestone Man will give the additional information on the event in due course but it will be one not to be missed.

Lads from bridgestone have already fought in Thailand. Niall Molloy and Mick P. for example. Steven meleady's good enough to face a Thai too (I think anyway). There are others. I'm sure there are plenty of lads in other gyms that I dont know too.

never seen niall ,mick or steven fight but the only ones i know of that could fight proper thais not tuk tuk drivers would be jamie crawford, shane cadogan, dennis o brien, rob doyle(maybe) but would be a great way to show how the level here has risen recently

    lol@tuk tuk drivers. :D
    rob doyle(maybe)

Pfft. Rob's the best fighter in bridgestone (edit: I forgot about Mick P there because he's away in Thailand half the time...but the point is that Rob's top notch), the best gym in the country (in my probably biased opinion). He has fought plenty of times in Thailand already. Putting a maybe after his name is madness. Sure all the questions will be answered on the day anyway.
but would be a great way to show how the level here has risen recently

    Definitely.

crawfords vs chaworit(neither power houses but good workrate)
    cadogen vs kantipong((bothe technical styles)
    doyle vs bovy(similar aggresive)
    horgan/cogan or o brien vs nampon(exciting)
they would be crackers.any other fantasy match ups?

    j crawford
    m paszowski
    m horgan
    s coogan
    s cadagon
    dominski

anyone else could fight a proper thai but would get an awful beating, in my opinion these 6 would be able to give as good as they get, the rest is just day dreaming

ps khannie what gym does mick fight out of

    Bridgestone. ;)

I saw him fight with some chuppa chups shorts on before, but I think that was just a mistake. ;)

how many of them 6 irish men are irish.i dont know why rob isnt on the list as he fights the same standard thais as mick p does when he is in thailand
I think both could fight a 'proper' thai

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 62 ✭✭mugger

I also think there is afew guys that would go the 5 rounds with a proper thai (by this i mean some1 fighting a thai at there weight + a still full time training + fighting thai who isnt past it) but the only 2 i could see beating some1 worth bringing over at the moment would b jamie + shane.
alot of us have trained + fought in thailand but that doesnt mean we could get in with there 'proper' lads
I do hope iam wrong with some of this + goodluck to any of the Irish lads fighting thais or any other lads that are brought over

Honestly I think Shane is the only one with enough skill to match a good thai at the same weight. I think the rest are very good and aggressive but don't have enough skill to beat a good thai. No thai is Jamies size and a good thai at 64/67 would take the rest comfortably.

i was thinlin that about jamies weight alrite but there are afew out there.
every1 has to remeber that the thai lads start training + fighting full time from as young as 5 or 6 up untill there late 20's.unlike are lads that mostly start from 16 - 25 training 4-6 hours a week until they have a fight then 15-20 hours around work.so any1 that can even go 5rounds or put up a fight against 1 is doing them + their country proud
