Legacy Diesel - buy now or wait for new model?

OK - only the July changeover has prevented me from closing a deal on one of the new Subaru Legacy Diesels. I've driven a number of cars including the 3-series and the Scooby is the only one that makes me REALLY want one. Very impressed with smoothness, sound and delivery of the new Boxer engine and with 4wd grip it can really sling-shot out of bends as well...A great steer...

However I was aware that the Legacy has been around a while and it transpires the new model is not-that-far-away...

Varying reports on when it will arrive and a complete contradicion between the two sources about design direction. Autocar says relatively conservative, Edmunds say it will be an adventurous/polarising design...

Anyway, on the off-chance that anyone else may know a little more about when the new Legacy arrives?

If I thought the new car was a year or more away I'd probably purchase. But if the replacement comes in the first half of next year it would put me off buying now...

Yeah I heard great things about this engine and that it has bags of punch and is whisper quiet for a diesel.
March 09 in japan for the new model probably means late summer for Europe.
