Ok - Keep the political discussion / content of the treaty out of this thread please.

I started off a 'No' supporter... then moved to Yes...
Now today, I'm back in the middle. It's marginally torwards yes, but I never could say for sure which side I was on.

So, have you been 100% sure of your vote today?
Or did it change many times?
Or have you even changed you mind on voting day itself??
I'll be voting after work, and I probably won't know for sure untl I walk in and just weight up all my thoughts about it again.

Can't remember any other election I've been like this.

Have you changed your mind? 54 votes

I knew from day 1 which way I'd vote

I always believed the government never really wanted us to vote yes they just had to put on a bit of a show for europe

Started off in the NO camp, due to my distrust o the French, but then I read the Treaty, and listened to Sinn Fein, and now I ended up in the YES camp

Yes, I'm going to vote in about half an hour and still unsure. I started off on 'No' as I hadn't a clue what it's all about. Then I thought, well if the main 3 parties are looking for a yes vote, I should trust the government (ha!) and vote yes. Then I watched Prime Time programme and McCreevy and Kenny didn't seem to no what the treaty was about either. So I went back to 'No'.

I looked up the website on the Treaty to make more sense of it and I still haven't a clue! Not good really as I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Started no because the first things I saw were from the no side and friends were telling me all this waffle. Changed when I learned about it, thanks sink and scofflaw.

So miss sparkly shoes, vote yes?
    wink.

At first I wanted to be at the heart of Europe, but those monkey posters had me at hello.

Was half and half initially and erring on "No" when Libertas started their campaign. But I was suspect of them from day one and then when all the other loonie groups started jumping into the No camp, I decided it was probably worth giving a good read and mull over. So yes now.

I believe that is the only amendment!
I should have made up some posters.

The same French that voted NO to almost the same treaty 3 years ago ?

The more I heard about the treaty, and the more I read from the no side, the more convinced I became that I'd vote yes.

Same as Seamus, started unsure but edging towards a no vote but the more I read into it the more yes seemed right way to vote.

No, different french and different treaty, keep up

Was originally a No, only this week have the yes side started to get their act together (still think the no side was better run) but will vote yes

My natural inclination was towards no, but on reading up on the whole thing I switched to Yes fairly quickly.

If I hadn't switched then, I think the No campaign would have put me off anyway. From losing a commissioner to abortion, and legalization of drugs & prostitution- i even saw little cards today that had a EU flag with the Nazi emblem on top of it. That kind of madness doesn't do them any favours, and would totally drive me away!

I started off in the no camp, but then checked the "facts" that the no campaigners were saying, and it seemed to me not to have much substance, so am now in the yes camp.

Started off neutral. Read some stuff, saw people such as the EU President issuing threats, Fine Fail failing in providing one decent reason to vote yes, brought in the fact that the people who rejected it before aren't getting a choice this time and decided "Fúck you Europe, No". Lose our vetoes in 30 areas? No thanks.

So, not really a change in mind. GG to the yes side on failing to provide me with one decent reason to vote yes though.

I read it and read it again and ended up voting no.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Yeah the EU president threats really had the opposite effect for me... but other than that i've been pretty much on the yes side. Read up a fair bit and am pretty comfortable voting yes. Nice to know that europes future rests on how the irish vote. Which ever way it goes I don't see it having a huge impact on every day life, there will will other eu treatys in years to come, but feel it would be positive if lisbon goes ahead after the work and time thats gone into it

so its been about 2 months since i first heard about the treaty and im still not entirely sure what the hell its all about.

I mean, at least with the patriot act i knew exactly what had happened the day after. if this treaty goes through, we'll all still be scratching our heads for the next 6 months!

okay, where is the substance for the yes camp? Id kill for a read, just so I can put it behind me.

Initially no. Then I read more about it, began to understand it more, and was swayed to the yes side. Finally, I realised that despite the fact that there are a lot of idiots voting no based on lies and propaganda, I felt uncomfortable about the treaty and voted no in the end.

I always knew from the beginning i would vote YES but the YES side just didn't sell it IMO; they certainly didn't help in swaying me, unfortunately, if i wasn't so certain myself

I was always yes but the treats did give me doubts and I seriously considered voting no. In the end I put my trust in the European governments but I'm not that sorry it was a no.

I love the hole idea of Europe, it's the future and backpacking Europe just made me love it more. I've got on great with ever European I've met and the camaraderie between us (despite language barriers) is great.
