If anyone has tried RC 2, my condolences. I have to say that as fast as it is, it doesn't strike me as being terribly stable yet, and a number of extensions aren't compatible yet.

Gone off Firefox lately - becoming as bad as IE was. I'll stick with Safari.

I use Safari as my default browser. I do like firefox though and use it the odd time on occasion. Aren't Mozilla going for a world record in relation to downloads over the internet with the launch of the new firefox 3??

as a converted mac user I tried my best to use safari, but I now use Firefox only.

Horrible program, I wish they'd scrap it and put their efforts into Camino instead. I had high hopes for Firefox 3 but it still doesn't feel like a Mac app. Although I suppose it helps switchers and cross-platform users feel more at home.

If you have had problems with rc2. Mozilla has brought out rc3 for the mac which makes it more stable, anyway the final release is only five days away.

It's not stability that I have problems with, it's the usability. Thanks though!

What worries me, though, is the dev comments. They were considering releasing RC 2 as final, with the bug included. Luckily some saner heads talked them round, but so far I haven't been hugely impressed with the stability. It is a damn sight faster in every way though. Very responsive experience.

How long should RC3 take to boot up on a new iMac? It takes at least five seconds for me. That seems slower rather than faster.

Firefox was always to fancy pants for me (altho i do use it on a PC), safari all the way for me!

If it offers better performance than safari 3 tho....

My favourite extension doesn't work with Firefox 3 (thanks, Google ). So happily using Safari now. I noticed Spotlight doesn't index Firefox's history. Kind of missed that as it is handy.
