Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post, and I'm not even sure if what I'm looking for is possible.

I have a hardrive recorder in the sitting room, and a network point there. I also have a network point in the bedroom. What I'm wondering is, is there something you can buy that would make it possible to view whats recorded on the harddrive in the sitting room on the television in the bedroom? (without writing it to DVD)

    Thanks

Depends on the software on the HD recorder........

    What make/model is it?

Any info in the manual? I know that a lot of these units can access media from another server (like the KISS DP-500) but they dont always share it.

There could also be modified firmware/OS to have this happen.

Nothing obvious in the manual. It doesn't have a network point. What I had been hoping for was something I could connect the Harddrive to via RGB/Scart, that would stream the video to the other TV via network. Thought it was a tall order.

    Thanks

No thats not a tall order at all. There are devices that transmitt RGB/VGA/composite/SVideo over a LAN cable. Not using ethernet, but just using CAT5E/CAT6 cable. You can also DIY it

Im sure you could do the DIY with RGB, svideo or composite if you felt inclined.

The other thing you need would be an IR blaster to control the box from the other room, if you wanted.
