FWIW i think as it's a charity tournament and there will probably be a fair few non regular players going along to support they tend to prefer bigger stacks and blinds. I have found this with any game i have organised for newer players. Most new tourney players who have only played home games previously almost always started their games with blinds at 100/200. Some of the newer players that have come along to my small buy in games are astonished to be starting with 30k stacks, as they were used to home games with 5k stacks etc. Just my tuppence worth.

I've just been enlisted to TD this event. Mickey's been doing a lot of advertizing for this event, so I'm really looking forward to it.

About the big stacks thing, Mickey and I spoke about this a while back in regards to an Irish Open satellite and agreed on these stacks blinds because it was more appealing to players as well as saving the unnecessary chipping up of 25 chips (which in a self deal tournament is big time saver).

I don't think the structure's that bad though, with the re-buy you'd have a 50k (52k) stack after 2.5h which would still represent 50 BB, as well as no blinds levels being left out (600-1200, 2500-5000 etc..)

Just to let ya know this event has no association with the Gold Club Casino itself(except sponsorship!)
