Anyone got any suggestions as to the best practices for backing up your iPhone. I've unlocked-activated & downloaded heaps of apps/games & utilities but the only way that I know how to back it up is through iTunes, and even at that I'm not sure if iTunes just backs up contacts/music etc or even Games /Apps. Anyone got amy suggestions ? Many thanks.

    Jay

iTunes will back up music, contacts, notes, messages, settings, etc.

It won't back up 3rd party apps (at present).

You'll need to back up some stuff via SFTP:

    /Applications
    /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/
    /var/root/Library/Preferences/

That should cover your apps and their settings. There are probably more folders but they are the few I can remember off the top of my head.
