I know it's late but does anyone know of any labs/pharmaceutical companies that would take me on for a few weeks over the summer?I would be willing to work for free just so I could get it on my CV.

Those posts are a product an idle mind.Personally I would be more concerned about someone who takes these boards seriously and has in excess of 4000 posts.

This takes nothing away from the fact that you have over 4000 posts on this site mate.I have no intention of getting into an argument with you over how I spend my time on the internet or what I chose to post on boards.I have made sure that it is impossible to identify me from my account. If anyone has any work for me please ignore tbh and post below.

I've no idea who you are (Although, you seem to have forgotten that if I were to offer you a job you'd have to tell me)

All I know is your post history. That's enough to make me not risk embarrassing myself by recommending you to anyone I know who may be in a position to give you a job. All I'm doing is recommending other boardsies to do the same, sure who's to know if they would even come to the same conclusion as me.

OP, try whatever hospitals are near to you. My friend worked in the labs in Holles Street last year, she loved it, was only in 3rd year science and started in mid June i think after exams

Where are you based, OP? If you're near any Dublin hospitals, you should have no problem getting two weeks placement.
Are you a Leaving Cert sudent hoping to get on a lab course?

That's very ignorant of you, I must say.

manic56, most Summer internships in labs will have been filled already. You really have to apply early for these jobs. For example, for Summer '09, begin applying around January '09.

    Regards,
    Kevin

You're right it was very ignorant of him.I have added him to my ignore list as he dosen't really add anything to the site.

I know I should have applied earlier but my original plans for the summer got turned upside down a few weeks back so now I find my self with 2 free months and a boards account...

You may just have to look for a different type of job for the Summer (like, a newsagents or something). All of the good jobs in all areas would have been filled by now, I'm sure.

The internet police are out in force it seems. Quite pathetic really.

OP, most lab internships go like hot-cakes, I was only able to get mine because my father knows someone at my place. +1 to what kelle said about the hospitals.

I'm not sure whether to be angry at or feel sorry for tbh.

Thank you ZorbaTehZ.I have spent a fair bit of time in hospitals as part of my degree but never their labs.
