Bank holidays & on-call

Morning everyone. For anybody who does on-call (or anybody who wants to throw in their 2 cents:pac:) do you get a special rate/lieu day for being on-call on bank holidays? On a BH it's basically sitting around waiting for the phone to ring which imo deserves a lieu day since I'd get it I was in the office doing nothing?

If you're working on a bank holiday you are legally entitled to "appropriate compensation" or time in lieu.

Most companies take one of two options:

1. Pay you for the bank holiday (as if you were off) and also pay you wages at normal time for hours worked on the bank holiday.

2. Give you equivalent time in lieu within the month.

I think On call is different. I was on on call 24/7 in my last job, and got the weekend rate for a bank holiday.

I was on call 9 to 9 during the last bank holiday and just got an extra day added to my holidays.
