My laptop seems to have developed issues with the disc drive.

Earlier today when I removed a disc I got the following error which hasn't gone away since:
    Windows - Wrong Volume

The wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume TF_RegnA_PSE into drive D:

    Cancel Try Again Continue

Upon choosing any option the the error just immediately pops up again. Any ideas?

can we get some more info?
    -make
    -brand
    -operating system?

giving more info helps to narrow down the problem , and there might be other people in your situation :D

Dell Inspiron 6400 running on XP. Laptop itself is only a few months old and I've been very good to it! Anything else?

if you restart the laptop put back i a cd and take it out will it come up with the same error? sounds like somthing is trying to pull some file from your cd drive.
were you installing something from the cd? or anything like that

Yes I was actually (but the installation had definitely been completed when I removed the CD). Hopefully the ol' restart will do the trick but it's still annoying me that it's acting up.
