I have never seen a moth like this before...

With the naked eye it looked just like a bit of a twig/stick.
It was in the back garden, well still is, hasn't moved and I don't expect it to until later tonight.

    What great camouflage. :)

    Anyone know what it is?

No idea what kind of moth is, but I'll bet our resident expert, Mothman, will be along pretty soon to ID it.

    Ah yes Mothman. :)

    Where is he?

This is only about an inch long, just to give you some idea.
It is sitting on the metal frame of a small kids trampoline. Kids have been banned from the back garden until moth moves. :)

Mind you, if it's quite rare....

    Yep. Good find Alun.
Clearly not rare. ;) But what an amazing moth.
That's just what I said to my wife, looks like a little bit of Silver Birch. :)
