Anyone have any tips, hints etc.

I was told by an examiner (not the author of the paper) To know strike and lockout and Parnells achievments and failures. Also to be able to compare him to Joseph Bigger. Anyone know anything upcoming in Division and re-alignment?

compare him to joseph biggar???? all I know is he was an obstructionist from Belfast. What else did he do?

Why would we be comparing Parnell to Biggar? Comparing Parnell with Butt seems to make more sense.

Anyway, I'd love a question on Parnell. Our teacher drummed his entire life into our heads. We think she had a wee crush on him.

I'm okay on Dictatorship & Democracy (please let there be something on Stalin / Lenin, I loooove those crazy Russians) and our Case Studies book. It's just the other stupid Irish book, 1914-1949 or whatever it is. Anyone a clue on that?

I'm gonna tune in to 2fm tonight anyway, hopefully they'll have some nice predictions.

Apologies, I mixed up Bigger and Butt.....Bigger Butt :D

Anyway, yeah, I'll be tuning into 2fm aswell, they seem to have a good track record of predictions so far.

I'd advise you to know the treaty, the time line, dates of conference between Dublin and London and the approach and bias of the individual plenipotentiaries, their roles played and the "comprimises" met.

I'm seriously screwed for this. I haven't done any study at all. What are the main poitns that I need to know from each book? Is it just the case studies that they ask essay questions on?

    Books I'm doing are.

Ireland: Option 2- Movements for Political and Social Reform, 1870-1914, Option 3- The Pursuit of Sovereignty and the Impact of Partition 1912-49

and Nation States and International Tensions 1871-1920,The United States and The World 1945-1989.

Is it jsut the case studies i need to know out of all them?

    I'm really worried about this...

Parnell and home rule party or strike and lockout

treaty negotiations leading to civil war, sinn fein 1918 or eucharistic congress

    Coleraine controversy or brookeborough

role of women in WW1 or bismarck's foreing policy

    nazi propaganda

    vietnam.

    if i get 2 answer 1 frm 3 sections il b happy!

Jaysus...the night before the exam and you're mixing up Biggar and Butt. :p

I'm hoping for Parnell or Home Rule in general.

The Treaty Negotiations or Cumann na nGaedheal.

    Hitler or Mussolini.

But since this is a thread about PREDICTIONS I'm pretty off topic. Like everyone else. :)

    In an ideal world...

    - Discuss the successes and failures in the career of CS Parnell

    - How did the Nazis come to power in Germany in 1933?

    - What were the main causes of the civil war? OR What factors led to the success of Sinn Fein in the 1918 general election?

    Actually, in an ideal world...

Brian Cowen cancels the leaving cert and lets us all go to college anyway...
And gives us lollipops and puppies....

I don't reckon they could set a leaving cert History paper and not put Parnell on it.

    I'm also hoping for Mousselini
    1918 election
    Vietnam

If these came up I would orgasm in the exam. Well I wouldn't, but you know

Case Study - Vietnam, causes and progress

The Pursuit of Sovereignty - Sinn Fein success in 1918 or Economic/Social policies of the inter-war years

Politics and Society of Northern Ireland - Civil Rights/Strife/Downfall of Stormont/Power-sharing or the old favorite - Coleraine!

Dictatorship and Democracy - Church State relations in Germany and Italy.

Now I am not going to pray that I will get them, I already believe that I have got them. Its just a matter of going in and writing.

Nope we did Early modern Topics I & II in both Irish and European history.

Our paper was actually really nice! Everything I was banking on came up:
    • The Kildare Hegemony
    • Shane O'Neill
    • Spain (as an essay on Philip II)
    :):):):):):):):):):):):)

    So frickin happy!
    I so got a B!
And my teacer told me I'd fail! Hah!
