Off to Hersonissos on Friday, staying in Frida Apartments in Piskopiano. :D

    Any advice?

Good restaraunts? What's the best local beer? Will I be able to get a pint of Cider?

What's the shopping like (for the girlfriend... last thing I want to do on holidays is go feckin shopping!), expensive/cheap?

    Are quads really that dangerous?

Anything else I should be asking about?

    Thanks

    Brian

was there a few years ago, wasn't great for the shopping in Piskopiano anyway, could have changed over the last few years.

Stayed in the Frida, touch and go with them, some rooms were lovely, some had urine soaked mattresses and blood stained walls. You can always ask to be moved.

There is an Irish bar attached to the Frida, they have cider iirc.

Quads are as dangerous as you drive them really. One of my mates crashed his the first time he got on it, but he wasn't a very good driver!!!

I really do not get the attraction with Hersonissos. Its a tiny town with generic bars and few nightclubs. All the restaurants are identical also.

    Hi there

I'm not long back from Piskopiano but I stayed in the Mika Villa's. Piskopiano is a lovely little village with lots of nice restaurants and the best pub is Nastos at the to of the hill where Manas, Lucy and George will look after you for your stay. Not much shopping though in Piskopiano apart from sun cream and towels!!!!
If you want to read my full review go to trip advisor and search mika villa's piskopiano.

    Enjoy

Stayed in the frida last year for one week with gf, The accomodation is pretty basic but then all accomodation in Crete/Greece are basic, The pool area is nice with plenty of sun beds and a nice view. There are restaurants around Piskopiano but I have to say none of them were fantastic. There is a resturant accross the road from the appartments called molloy malones is not bad for breakfast or lunch.

In my opinion those quads and scooters are death traps, in the one week i was there i must of saw about 3 or 4 crashes, anyway if you want to rent one out there is a place right next door to the frida.

I can't tell you much about the clubs and bars as i broke my foot before i went and was on cruches for the whole holiday so i was a bit ackward to get arround. If you want a mad night out hop in a taxi (€6.00)into Hersonissos or a quietish night, just walk 2min up the hill and there is a few bars with karaoke.

all in all i enjoyed the week, Hope this helps!!:D
