Right, with the new's of the new iPhone being released at such a low price does anyone think Nokia might drop the price of the N96?!

Very big difference between the two on prices now...and use I know there's differences between both!

How can you compare the two? Keep in mind that the prices you are seeing for the iPhone are subsidised. Also, Nokia's high end phones always start off at silly prices before coming down pretty rapidly.

I too own a 95 but now that the 3g iPhone has been revealed and is a tad dissapointing, price drop or not I'll be very interested in the 96. Apple have fallen at the final hurdle again IMO

    Agree,
price for simfree unlocked N96 with sh*tloads of ready and waiting 3rd party freeware cannot be compared to Mr Jobs' latest iTem... 2 year contracts, yada yada yada... And as with n95 etc, the price for n96 will come down in no time!
And why compare a touchscreen iphone and a slider 3x4? Oh, right: the hype...
    well, buy an iphone then!
The real issue is wether the n96's added features and upped specs justify that it's priced at 2 1/2 n95's?????????!!!!!!! Wait for the n96's price to drop, by which time the nokia ts "tube" will be out, or samsungs i900 or the diamond touch pro...
There's always sth else...they are gadgets, not - as jobs et al. want to make you believe - life or death decisions :P

I'll be getting the N96 as well,my N95 has bee annoying me recently! Just was wondering is all, it would make sense for them to knock a bit off it which would prob get them back any customer base they might lose to the new iPhone!

My N95 battery only lasting 5-6 hours at a go is sufficient for me to abandon it despite all the nice features.

Any word on who's gonna carry the N96 here? I'm assuming Vodafone...

Three from September depending on testing,

Rang them to ask why they weren't carrying the N95 8GB, the said no point as already had the N95-1 and were testing the N96.

Again its easy to say this over the phone, but it wasn't India, it was from Dublin.

yeah, price will come down for sure, but hey: nokia sell in a week what jobs sold in a year, don't forget that! Nokia probably profit from the iphone hype in the long run, as people who never got "smartphones" suddenly have their interest awakened wether they like the iphone or not... It's only the second apple phone... In the US even, the samsung instinct recently beat some iphone sales record, so wait and see....

but back on topic: n95's price went down rapidly, so I'm sure you won't pay 900.00 bangers for a vodafone n96!!!
