Wireless router password

Hi, I know this has probably been posted before but I need some advice. I need to put a password on my Netgear router. I have a PC which has wired ethernet and a macbook which is wireless. How do I go about putting a password on it. Does it make a difference that one computer is a PC and one is a mac?

Go to your admin panel: normally something like 192.168.1.1 Username: Admin Password: Admin. However not all routers are the same so search the net for yours.

Then goto security tab and look at network key.

Thanks! When I put a password on it will I need to enter the password every time I want to log on to either of the computers?

No you can store it in the options on the wireless. the wired one won't need it.
